General Dentistry
Helping our patients maintain a healthy mouth and smile is the main goal of general dentistry. We prefer to provide more minor, preventive care than to see patients suffer with more intensive treatments from a problem that was not managed in time. We want to ensure that your oral health is in its optimal state and positively contributing to the health of your entire body. We are here to brighten your smile and pave the way for a brighter life.

Emergency Care
Our highly trained doctors and staff are ready to manage all of your concerns. We have methods to alleviate the pain and help you feel calm during your emergency dental visit.

Extractions
An extraction is performed to remove a tooth, whether because of disease, crowding, or damage. When extractions are required, the area around the tooth will be numbed and your dentist will remove the tooth. A small amount of bleeding is normal, as your mouth will replace the removed tooth root by forming a blood clot in the area.

Night Guards
It can be beneficial to use a guard, or covering, to protect your teeth from grinding while sleeping. Similar to how a mouthguard protects teeth during sports, this layer prevents damage to the teeth that can occur naturally.
There are a wide variety of different types of mouthguards, ranging from pre-formed pieces to ones that are custom fitted to your teeth and jaws. Some of these can even be formed at home through a boil-and-bite process.

TMJ Treatment
At Hills Park Dental, we are proud to offer temporomandibular joint dysfunction, otherwise known as TMJ, treatments to provide relief for our patients. TMJ is caused by an inflammation in the temporomandibular joint, which acts as a sliding hinge that connects your jawbone to your skull.
What are the symptoms of TMJ?
TMJ causes pain and discomfort along the jawbone and can make it painful to even move your jaw. While jaw pain and discomfort don’t always equate to TMJ, if you are also experiencing headaches, trouble chewing, or pain in the face, jaw, and ear, you’re more than likely experiencing TMJ.

Botox For TMJ Treatment
For years Botox has helped so many men and women successfully treat wrinkles and facial creases. As people age, they long for a more youthful appearance. Botox is able to give them this.
Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle is then not able to contract. This causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. Botox is typically used on the forehead lines, around the eyes, and frown lines. Typically wrinkles are caused as we age, but they are also brought on by sun damage and gravity.

Frenectomy
Here at Hills Park Dental, we are proud to offer the procedure known as a frenectomy.
It is always our goal to give you a smile you can be proud of. However, many people have a frenum, which is extra gum and tissue between the upper front teeth. Because of this, their front teeth have a gap between them, and sometimes it’s a very noticeable one.
When you have a frenum, we perform a frenectomy to remove the excess tissue between your teeth. However, unless we remove the extra tissue before the permanent teeth come in, you will still have a gap between your teeth.
After a thorough examination, we will discuss the best time to perform the procedure. We may have to put braces on to pull your teeth together before the frenectomy. We may also talk about using a retainer to help hold your teeth together after we perform the procedure.
It is our goal to give you a smile you can be proud of, and we are dedicated to ensuring that happens. We will work with you to close the gap between your teeth, whether we perform a frenectomy alone or with other procedures to give you the smile you deserve.
If you have any questions about frenectomies or would like to discuss the gap between your teeth, don’t hesitate to contact us today at (631) 254-6596.

Gum Disease Treatment
Having poor dental health can negatively affect your entire body. Risks such as heart disease and diabetes are linked to poor oral hygiene. If you suspect you have gum disease, you should call the professionals at Hills Park Dental immediately.
Gum disease is very common. In fact, forty-seven percent of American adults have some form of periodontitis. In adults over sixty-five, the prevalence rate is over seventy percent. In the early stages, the treatment involves non-surgical procedures, however if you have more advanced stages, surgery may be required.
Some of the most common signs of gum disease are bleeding when eating, brushing, and flossing because your gums are swollen and tender. You also may notice that your gums are starting to recede. If you notice you have sores in between your gum and teeth, you may also have gum disease.
Our practice is located in Deer Park, NY, , and our friendly and educated staff understand how important having a healthy mouth is. We will take the time to go over each prevention method in depth, and work hard during the treatment so that you do not experience gum disease again.
If you have any questions regarding gum treatment, or would like to schedule an appointment, contact us today at (631) 254-6596.

Pediatric Dentistry
We are proud to specialize in pediatric dentistry. Our entire staff is very good with children. We know and understand how children think so that we can start them off right. We want them to associate the dentist’s office as a good place, instead of being scared. We take our time with each patient so that they have an enjoyable visit.
Our dentists (and entire staff) understand the importance of good oral health even as young children. They have specialized training with primary teeth. They are here to help protect and restore children’s teeth so that they can speak and eat easily, as well as having a wonderful smile. They understand the growth and development of children’s teeth so that they can start their oral health off correctly.
